On a gas furnace, the draft inducer runs ahead of ignition to pull combustion air through the burners and heat exchanger and push the products of combustion out through the vent. The pressure it develops closes the pressure switch, which the control must see before it will energize the igniter and gas valve.

When the inducer motor seizes, runs noisily, or spins too slowly, the furnace fails to light or trips on pressure switch faults. This kit is supplied as a replacement inducer motor assembly.
